Main Ingredients
- 1 Pack Jjapagetti (Korean Instant Black Bean Noodles)
- 1 Pack Neoguri (Korean Instant Ramen Noodles)
- 5 Cups Water
- Some Sweet Corn for Garnish (Optional)
- Some Peas for Garnish (Optional)
Directions
Obtain one pack of Nonshim Japagettie, which is the Korean brand and
name for the instant black bean noodles. Obtain one pack of Nonshim
Neoguri, which is Korean brand and name for the spicy instant noodles.
Neoguri includes the instant noodles, 1 pack of dried flakes, and 1 pack of spice powder.
Jjapagetti includes the instant noodles, 1 pack of dried flakes, 1 pack of black bean powder, and 1 pack of oil.
Add both blocks of noodles in 5 cups of boiling water.
Right after adding the noodles, add both of the dried flake packs.
Cook for about 4 minutes on medium high, or until the noodles are almost
cooked.
We will not use whole pack of the spice powder from neoguri. So
obtain a generous ½ Tbsp of it in this step. Depending on your tastes,
you can add more powder later.
Check the noodles to see if you like the texture. Some people like to
cook the noodles longer than others. For me, 4 minute on medium-high
was right.
Quickly drain the noodles, but save about ½ cup of the water for later.
Leave the stove turned on. Quickly add the drained noodles back into the pan and continue cooking them.
Pour the saved broth into the pan. Keep the temperature on medium-high. Start counting down from 30 seconds.
Add 1 pack of black bean powder and 1 pack of oil.
Add the spice powder (the ½ generous Tbsp that you measured earlier).
It will be better to be prepare all of the spice packs beforehand
(opening them up).
Mix everything gently. All of these steps (adding broth, powder, and oil) should be done quickly (in about 30 seconds).
Serve it with kimchi, cucumber, and yellow pickled radish. Hard boiled eggs are a match too.
